Thought this would eliminate my aging wrt54g and 10/100mb wired but not likely.

Wanted to use the usb and set to ftp with port forwarding to my home server for web but port forwarding failed to server even with customer support took off the usb and was OK.

Second with 3-N wireless and 1-G i thought it would be easy –not likely —with 2 -n laptops logged in and a g laptop logs on both n drop off connect drop off connect and then fail ,remove G and connects back. The new firmware didn’t help so it went back.

Back to the old WRT54G till someone can make a all in one that works.

I will never, ever, ever purchase another product with customer service out-sourced to India or somewhere else in Asia!!!! Attempting a discussion is near impossible, especially over a cell phone. The heavy accents and poor understanding of the English language was horrible. Horrible!!! They have a set script in front of them to read based on “cue” words and anything else cannot be resolved. Extreme difficulty getting a higher level real technician or anyone in U.S. who could actually understand the issues. I am DONE with anything outsourced, period! It’s working fine and I do have faster connections and downloads. But every time I look at it I shudder being reminded of the nightmare set-up process.

I’m on my second WNR3500L, returned the first as defective. Unfortunately, the second WNR3500L functions the same. The router periodically stops processing WAN to LAN traffic. A ping to the gateway fails from the LAN on a wired, fixed IP address. Pings to other LAN addresses initially work but gradually degrade and fail as well. Both routers ran only Netgear firmware. The only way to revive the router is a power cycle.

Have called/emailed Netgear. While polite, there was no resolution for either router’s failures.

The second router is going back next week.

I have been using this router for two weeks. It is easy to setup, using the original Netgear firmware. The wireless range is good but it could have been better. The only issue I had with the router was the price. It could have been lower.

I agonized as I drifted through countless wireless router reviews only to see that every product had at least about 20% of their reviews come in at 1 star. I took a leap of faith on this product due to the alleged easy of set-up and have to say I am absolutely thrilled with the product. The set-up took literally five minutes and my computer and wireless Blu-Ray player were both up and running without a hitch. I am certainly no techie and put a premium on products that emphasize ease of use and performance, and this product absolutely has both. The pick-up in performance is extraordinary as well.
